Guided by our Desert Forest School principles, we honor curiosity, embrace child-led learning, follow the rhythms of the seasons, and cultivate confidence, resilience, a deep sense of belonging, and a lifelong connection to the earth.
By slowing down, observing closely, taking supported risks, and caring for the living world around them, children discover not only the wonders of nature, but also the strengths, wisdom, and authenticity within themselves.

At Earthbound Explorers AZ, we believe some of life's most meaningful learning happens together.
Our family-centered, community-based classes invite parents and children to explore side by side as they discover the beauty of the Sonoran Desert, learn through wonder, and build lasting relationships. Rather than simply dropping children off, families become active participants in the experience—sharing stories, creating art, observing nature, learning Spanish, celebrating the changing seasons, and making memories together.
We believe children flourish when they feel deeply connected—to their families, to trusted adults, to friends, and to the natural world. By learning alongside one another, parents gain a window into their child's growth while children experience the confidence and security that comes from exploring with the people they love most.
Over time, these shared experiences become something even greater. Strangers become friends. Children find their community. Parents discover encouragement, support, and genuine connection. Together, we create the kind of village where families are known, welcomed, and celebrated.

Children build a lasting relationship with the land by returning to nature throughout the seasons. As they observe changing weather, wildlife, plants, and natural cycles, they develop a deep sense of belonging and connection to the world around them.
Child-Led Exploration

We honor children's natural questions, interests, and discoveries. Our educators thoughtfully balance guidance with freedom, creating space for wonder, creativity, and meaningful exploration.
Whole-Child Development

Learning extends far beyond academics. Through movement, mindfulness, storytelling, creative expression, and nature-based experiences, children build confidence, resilience, empathy, emotional awareness, and a strong sense of self.

Living the Rhythms of the Desert
The changing seasons become part of our curriculum.
Our learning follows the natural rhythms of the Sonoran Desert—from monsoon storms and desert blooms to cooler winters, migrating birds, solstices, equinoxes, and the cycles of the moon. Each season offers new opportunities for discovery, reflection, and wonder.
Mindful Stewardship
We care for the desert as much as we learn from it.
As a Desert Forest School, we encourage children to become thoughtful caretakers of the natural world. Through respect, gratitude, conservation, and responsible exploration, children learn that they are part of nature—and that even small acts of care help protect the places we love.
